Bio-Hydrogen Airship of the future

Nowadays architects come up with imaging new designs for future flight. Belgium architect Vincent Callebaut has design such a magnificent aircraft, the Hydrogenase. Based on algal for bio-hydrogen and with inflatable photovoltaic cells and wind propellers the airship would be a real future means of transportation and could open up a whole new way of cruise trips.

Does the world need nuclear energy?

A great debate on the use of nuclear energy. After watching the debate I’m actually for both solutions, because we need clean energy quick! By developing green renewable energy sources in the short run and investing also in nuclear energy in the long run we can create a balanced energy meter for the future.

100 percent renewable energy possible by the year 2030

Since the beginning of my Tomorrow is Greener blog I wondered why no government or country, private firm or person had announced to completely power an entire country with renewable energy sources (minor exceptions overlooked). Since it is possible to turn the tide on fossil fuels, you would imagine that a lot of nations would have shifted by now. Unfortunately the opposite is true.

A solution for desertification: Putting the desert into good use

Due to deforestation, global warming and lack of fresh (surface) water acres of land turn into dust every year. Desertification, as it is called, is hard to stop and may turn a significant percentage of our landmass into unusable soil.

Biofuel in the picture: Algae

Due to high oil prices and the competing demands between foods and other biofuel sources, such as palm and soybeans, due to the world’s food crisis, interest in biofuel from Algae is higher than ever before. Algae are one of the fastest growing plant species in the world. Some strains of algae can even grow so rapidly that they double in size every day, producing large amounts of lipids (oils).
