Ever since the scheme was launched in the United Kindom in 2010, the amount of the renewable energy has grown by more than 41 times. The explosive growth in solar panel installations on homes, schools and fields in the UK over the past 22 months saw the green energy source pass the symbolic milestone of 1,000MW this week.
Europe is currently the largest market for solar energy in the world. Nine of the 15 largest solar markets are located in Europe. Just last year, European PV installation was good for 20.9 GW, which is over 75% of the global total solar PV installed (total: 27.7 GW).
