One of the major problems with wind power is that it isn’t reliable. The wind doesn’t always blow when electricity is needed. Next to that, electricity is hard to store. Canadian start-up Hydrostor takes could change that. It takes off-peak power from offshore wind turbines and uses it to pump up a big underwater balloon.
The Mobile Garden Car is a Chicago based initiative to create awareness for sustainable energy and green transport. The design is part of the Art on Track festival. All of the plants used are native, and they cover the seats, windows and floors.

Last month the record for the longest drive ever in a battery-powered vehicle on a single charge was broken by a new, experimental electric vehicle called “Schluckspecht”. The electric vehicle, Schuckspecht, which means ‘heavy drinker’ in German, is developed at the University of Applied Sciences in Offenburg.

While Brazil and Indonesia get most of the attention when it comes to deforestation, the issue is also huge in parts of Africa. Now the Republic of the Congo wants to do something about that and hopes to raise $2.6 billion to replant parts of the second large forest in the world over the next 10 years.
