A solution to store wind power: Hydrostor

One of the major problems with wind power is that it isn’t reliable. The wind doesn’t always blow when electricity is needed. Next to that, electricity is hard to store. Canadian start-up Hydrostor takes could change that. It takes off-peak power from offshore wind turbines and uses it to pump up a big underwater balloon.

Electric Car breaks world record with 1,600 km on a single charge

Last month the record for the longest drive ever in a battery-powered vehicle on a single charge was broken by a new, experimental electric vehicle called “Schluckspecht”. The electric vehicle, Schuckspecht, which means ‘heavy drinker’ in German, is developed at the University of Applied Sciences in Offenburg.
