Current energy systems and technological advancements in the world will not be sufficient to make the planet free from carbon dioxide emitted by energy resources. To solve this problem the world will have to switch to renewable green energy sources very fast. Currently the world is still dependent on traditional energy sources like coal and gas.

Germany is a leader when it comes to solar power. However, scientists of the University of Kassel in Germany prove that the entire country can be powered by renewables only. They connected biogas, wind and solar power in a distributed way and show it can deliver both baseloads and peakloads.
